What I’ve been working on
I’ve been keeping myself very busy this week. Firstly I made a video on focus pulling, that dives into the role of the first AC. It’s a quick two minute video. You can watch it by clicking the image above.
I’ve also been working on some other videos. I released one on Monday, where I made a stock footage cinematic edit (watch here). On Friday, there will be a video out where you can learn about why I made the video on Monday, so something to look forward to.
Short Film of the week

This week, I watched a really inspiring film from Yes Theory, about their travel through Iraq. The film shows a very different side to the culture that we traditionally see on the news. I recommend watching it by clicking the image above. As yes theory says: ‘This week, I traveled to the beautiful country of Iraq. All my life I'd heard of the war in Iraq and how dangerous it was to visit, but I wanted to go there and explore it for myself to hear the stories that didn't make it into the media. So, along with Drew Binsky, Lexie Alford, and Cory Martin, we were taken around Iraqi Kurdistan by our amazing guide, Baderkhan.’
Educational Film of the week

With Moca’s new 2021 update, there are plenty of new features. Film Riot breaks down the new tracking capabilities and the uses that could come from it, such as faster turnaround times on set because of less time being spend on makeup, special effects, props, etc. The possibilities are endless so I highly recommend watching this video by clicking the image above.
The blog post of the week

I’ve always believed that DaVinci Resolve is one of the best free pieces of software available, so now with the latest update DaVinci Resolve 17 coming out, I thought I would recommend this blog post that goes into the new update. You can read the article by No Film School by clicking the image above.

It’s here! The Insta360 Go 2. I think that this camera is going to be used for vloger’’s and content creators because of how compact it is and how accessible it is. With 32GB of storage, f2.2, 100-3200 iso, flow state stabilization, HDR time-lapse, Slow-mo, and incredible quality. It’s all here so check it out by clicking the image above.
